Vawter (Seaman [Kansas]/KCKCC) struck out 11 MSBL Royals in five innings during a 4-2 win Tuesday that clinched the top seed and a first-round postseason bye for the Stars.
Vawter allowed one run on four hits with two walks before a trio of relievers — RHP Jacob Rehkow (Blue Springs South/North Central [Missouri] CC), RHP Jorge Sanchez (Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and High School/KCKCC) and RHP Jaidon Bowers (Olathe West/Baker) — closed out the win.
