Ban Johnson’s brightest stars from the 2016 season will take the field at the K on Sunday morning, July 24.
The leading hitter in the league Seaboard third baseman Drew Green will be playing for the B All-Stars. He finished the regular season with a batting average of .429 and was also first in on-base percentage at .566.
Natural Baseball Academy outfielder Jack Pauley is on the J All-Stars. He led the league in home runs with seven, RBIs with 28 and slugging percentage at .721.
Regal Plastic outfielder Wylson Lamb was the stolen base leader with 17. He is on the J All-Star team.
Regal Plastic right-handed pitcher Jake Slocum led the league with 47 strikeouts and is on the J All-Star team.
Aurelio Bacling of the NKC Apts. Giants was the leader in three pitching categories. The J All-Star right-handed pitcher led in ERA at 0.81, WHIP at 0.96 and opponent batting average at .169.
The managers are Jake Bradshaw of the BJ Raiders for the B All-Stars and Brian Knippelmeyer of Natural Baseball Academy for the J team.
Bradshaw said, “Nothing better then playing with the best and against the best guys in the league at the K. Make sure to stop, look around and enjoy the moment. Only a number of guys get to play on a big league field.”
“It’s an honor to be representing our league as a manager for the BJ All-Star game,” Knippelmeyer said. “It’s a great opportunity for the players selected to play in a major league ball park and showcase their skills. I hope all the players enjoy themselves and walk away with memories that will last a lifetime.”
The umpires are home plate Brent Voth, first base Kevin Starr, second base Cary Funk and third base Steven Sammon.
